Elkhart’s Damon Motor Coach Featured on Travel Channel Program
November 30, 2004
Damon Motor Coach, an Elkhart-based motorhome manufacturer, has made it all the way to Hollywood — via the Travel Channel.
Starting in December, Damon’s Class A Intruder motorhome will be featured on the popular cable program “John Ratzenberger’s Made in America.”
Throughout the summer and fall, Ratzenberger — best known for his role as Cliff Clavin on the longtime TV series “Cheers” — traveled the U.S. in a Damon Intruder, compiling stories about the best people, places and products in the country. Features filmed during trips to such locations as Boston, Chicago, Kansas City, Seattle and Los Angeles will air on the Travel Channel through spring, 2005.
“This is a great partnership with a show that features the best that America produces and targets an audience that coincides with Class A demographics,” said Dave Olson, Vice President of Gas Sales and Product Development. “Damon was selected because of its high quality reputation and because it had rear living area floorplans suitable for production shots with Mr. Ratzenberger.”
Damon receives credit at the end of the show and its Intruder is featured prominently in the episodes, usually at the beginning of the features.
